Oh my gawd, this child is being a real pill lately.
I assume that it is because his top two teeth are coming through, but not only has his sleep been haphazard and painfully short most days and nights, but we just had an hour long wrestle-session in which he repeatedly screamed for booba, and then immediately chomped down with his little white razor teeth the second I GAVE him booba. Then I would yank the nipple out of his mouth and he would wail heartbrokenly.
Aaaaaaaaargh.
Good news – that job I applied for a ZILLION years ago? Well, I finally have an interview for it next Wednesday! Now I just need to figure out what to do with Bitey McScreamsalot while I’m off at the interview…
Oh I remember the biting stage …. not a good time. Congrats on the interview!
Thanks! I hope it goes well… this job would be PERFECT.
Oh my. And I suppose biting him back is out of the question.
I kid! I kid!
Can’t wait to hear about your interview.
I’ve thought about it…
I hate the biting stage. Ugh ugh ugh. In fact, because my kids both teethed quite late, breastfeeding did not survive too long after the biting started. Like, sorry punks, ain’t nobody bitin’ my boobas.
Good luck on the interview!
WHY do babies have such razor-sharp teeth? They should come in all dull.
Ew for biting. Yay for interviews!
Agreed on both counts.
Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow!! Jonah’s gotten me a few times, but thankfully it hasn’t been a regular thing. Liam was never a biter. I feel for you, though — Jonah made me bleed once. OUCH!
YAY for the job interview!!!! That job sounds so perfect, it’s almost scary. I mean, the location, teaching students (which I think you’d be fabulous at), the awesome pay… How could it be better? I hope you get it. 🙂
Too bad there’s so much competition. But if I do well at the interview… there’s a practical portion…
Fox has been nipping me lately too when he’s either a)too frantic to get at the boob b) done with boob and uses a bite as the signal or c)growing other teeth and trying to relieve that stress by biting my boob with the teethies he’s already got. Punk. And I agree, baby teeth are too sharp. Maybe we should give them rocks to chew on, so they can dull them down a little?
That is a brilliant idea.
Ooh, good luck for the interview! And good luck for overcoming the biting. I used to take it as a signal the baby wasn’t really hungry…
It’s true, it’s usually when he’s tired and in pain and trying to nurse for comfort.
Also, on his general pillish behaviour, did he *just* turn 9 months?? Looks like he’s right on schedule!
He was 9 months on June 8th, so maybe he’s behind schedule a bit!
Ouch, I totally remember the biting stage. I screamed so hard I scared my son. If I had hte money, I think I’d go formula all the way!
Ps-Now that your son has teeth, check out this Mom’s Guide to Caring for Little Teeth (http://www.1dental.com/moms-guide/). It’s got practical tips for kids of all ages, specifically about what to do when teeth start coming in. I’ve referenced it for my newborn and my 4 year old. Good luck!
